Get to Know the Designer; Sassi Holford
There’s less than a week to go until Sassi Holford debuts her 2020 collection at Barcelona Bridal Week. We wait with baited breath for the queen of style to launch this much-awaited collection. Will it be bold? Whimsical? Relaxed? One thing is for sure, it will be Sassi in every way!
So what do we know about Sassi Holford?
1981 is the year it all began. Sassi Holford made her first wedding dress, for a friend who was getting married. How long did she have to make the dress… overnight! With her creativity, vision and determination (never one to turn down a challenge), Sassi developed her dress-making skills and by 1988, only seven years later, the Sassi Holford collection was stocked in both Harrods and Liberties in central London. A year later, Sassi was collecting the renowned BRIDES magazine award, and has never looked back.
The first Sassi Holford boutique opened in Taunton in 1994 then her flagship boutique in Chelsea, London, opened in 2003. Since then she’s been providing Brides with romantic, elegant designs across the World. Each time we see a Sassi Holford dress, our jaw hits the floor a little bit more!
We adore Sassi’s 2019 collection, which is perfectly titled, Enchanted. It’s inspired by nature and romance, with a strong focus on texture and light. The collection, as with all things Sassi Holford, celebrates the female form and aims to enhance the individuality of each Bride. We are all unique after-all. Let’s embrace and love what we each have.
Enchanted by Sassi Holford remains true to this divine ethos and as you will see each dress possesses its own magic, its own drama and je ne sais quoi.
There’s something for everyone in the Sassi Holford 2019 collection.
Our tip? If you’re a Bride-to-be and you’re not sure which direction you want to go in, with your dress and overall style, you won’t be disappointed by the Sassi Holford experience. Above: Say hi to Evelyn by Sassi Holford. An all-over lace, fishtail gown, which is a true masterpiece. Evelyn has a low back with lace illusion overlay, designed with a deep sweetheart neckline to the front. This wedding dress would be ideal for a traditional, classic, Bride.
Above: Meet Lydia by Sassi Holford. She is the epitome of wedding ballgown. The satin fabric catches the light beautifully, while the organza stripe adds a contemporary feel.
Above: The Eva dress is a beautiful halter-neck gown with a deconstructed corded lace bodice and slim crepe skirt. The lace detailing is magnificent and the back of this dress makes a statement, as much as the front. The central split makes this dress unique and gives you the chance to show off those gorgeous wedding shoes! We can see this dress in the fields of England as much as somewhere sunny.
