Behind the Scenes at Minster Bridal Boutique
WHAT a welcome you receive at Minster Bridal Boutique in Wimborne, Dorset. Our breath was taken away by the happy faces and impeccable service.
The Boutique space itself is charming, tucked away on a little close by Wimborne Minster. Inside you will discover a well-presented, light and airy showroom, with smart seating (we love the chaise!) and now a private dressing room upstairs as well. You heard it here first! Meaning there’s even more room to accommodate all of you lovely Brides.
We went behind the scenes at Minster Bridal to catch up with the Founder and Owner Oxana, and her super-star accomplice Donna.
Describe the Minster Bridal experience for our Brides?
We are all about creating a relaxed experience for our Brides. We offer style, service and the ultimate shopping experience. We are here to support and guide Brides on their journey. We’re never too invasive, and want our Brides to find their experience with us, calm, comfortable, and fun.
What’s your USP?
Our dresses are handpicked for their superior craftsmanship, meaning Brides have access to dresses which are totally unique across Dorset and often the UK. Our approach is sexy but always classy.
We also champion the art of communication as we want to get to know each and every Bride we meet, so we can establish their wedding dress dreams and ambitions. On entering Minster Bridal Boutique, we sit down with the Bride and catch-up first. There is no rush. We look at their Pintrest / online images and inspiration, talking it through, trying to bring everything to life for them.
Which designers do you stock at Minster Bridal Boutique?
Martina Liania is a designer hailing from Australian and her work is sensational. We are proud to stock her collections. She is designing a bespoke collection for a few handpicked suppliers globally, which includes us I am proud to say, so Minster Bridal Boutique will be stocking dresses from her exclusive All Who Wonder collection very soon. If you want to wear an exquisite dress that is not available on the open-market, this is your chance.
Stella York continues to be very popular in our Boutique. Stella brings together dramatic elegance and Australian-inspired sophistication to create a remarkable look that is unsurpassed.
We are incredibly excited to be stocking Riki Dalal. The collection is jaw-dropping. Feminine, sexy, but completely beautiful.
Can we expect any new designers from you?
Well, we are delighted to reveal to Front Row Bride as an exclusive that we have been selected to stock the renowned Rachel Rose Collection. Rachel hails from Australia and her dresses are out of this World. It’s a funny story really; we found her Instagram channel and messaged her to say we adored her designs. From here we began a conversation and there was serendipity with our timing, as the following week Rachel’s mum was in the UK so we met up with her to view the dresses. The rest is history, as they say!
What sizes are available to try on in your Boutique?
The majority of our dresses in store come in a size 12 but we have anything from a size 9 (our own take on sizing) up to a size 26. All shapes and sizes are accommodated for with our dresses.
How often do you update your collections, in case Brides want to wear a new style in particular?
Our new collections normally arrive every summer and then January / February time. However, we do receive dresses all year round.
How long will Brides need to wait for their dress to be made, if they order through you?
Because of the quality and detailing that goes into our designers work we recommend leaving six months from the point of placing your order, for it to arrive in our Boutique, then working with our seamstress to ensure the dress fits exactly as it should.
How long have you been running Minster Bridal Boutique for?
We opened in January 2015 so have been in Wimborne, Dorset, almost five years. Before opening Minster Bridal Boutique I worked in fashion for 23 years.
“Our dresses are handpicked for their superior craftsmanship”
What’s the one bit of advice you’d like to tell our Brides?
We meet so many Brides who fall in love with an online image, when they haven’t tried on a dress (or often any dresses) at this point. Our advice is to trust us as the stylists who do this every day. Let us guide you on your journey. You can’t buy a dress from a picture you need to get the feeling, you need to love the dress on you. It’s how you feel. We’d advise being open-minded in your approach to wedding dress shopping and don’t set your heart on an online image before you start the organic and exciting process of dress hunting!
