Give a Girl the Right Shoes, and She Can
Conquer the World
It’s OK to be a little obsessed with shoes. Good shoes take you to good places (That’s my excuse anyway!)
Your wedding day shoes can be made as much of a big deal, or not, as you so wish. You have the power. There are some superb high-street collections out there to take advantage of. Think Dune, Rainbow Club and Ted Baker.
Then there are the designer styles which take things to the next level. Depending on how much of a shoe-lover you are and how much you want your wedding shoes to be pride of place will determine your budget and shopping spree.
I didn’t spend a fortune on my shoes but actually it’s one of the things I kind of wish I did. Even if it meant saving for 10 months! I don’t stop looking at wedding shoes even now so I have picked a few super-stylish designer numbers to make your heart skip-a-beat.
Say I Do in Choo
New in this season at Jimmy Choo are the Sabine 85mm pumps. I’ve fallen in love!
The silver leather Sabine 85mm pump glitters brighter than any disco ball. There’s no doubt about it you’ll be sparkling all the way down the aisle. The intricate crystal embellishments adorning the entire shoe and front ball are utterly decadent and elude to the ultimate glamour. Imagine seeing this much sparkle shooting out from the front of your wedding dress as you walk?
These shoes are real show-stoppers; a perfect Cinderella shoe.
You will leave a trail of sparkle wherever you go!
Wifey for Lifey
All hail the queen of shoe rock and roll, Sophia Webster! Anything Sophia Webster imagines becomes a shoe reality. I’m talking funky, colourful, bright, bold shoes not for the faint-hearted.
This season the inaugural Coco Crystal pump has been updated to a bridal blue satin. The colour is divine, a pretty powder blue. The Coco Crystal pump comes in two heel heights, 100mm and 70mm, so you have options depending on your own height, dress and personal preference.
The heel is finished with an exquisite crystal adding a little bit of extra glam – perfect for your special day. One of my absolute *favourite* parts is the “Wifey for Lifey” statement on the sole. I mean, come on? I want to buy them for this alone. I feel a photo op coming on!!
Quick tip? Sophia Webster shoes do come up a bit snug. I’d go up half a size for guaranteed comfort on your wedding day.
A Twist on a Classic
If you’re more of a classic girl and wish to channel your inner Carrie Bradshaw (one for the Sex and the City fans…) then you do so by investing in the all-new Hangisli by Manolo Blahnik.
These light blue satin almond toe sling-backs are beyond incredible in my eyes! I would have them in every colour if I could, plus the heel height is great for taller people like me. The elasticated slingback ankle strap also provides extra comfort and personally I find this style extremely flattering.
The square crystal buckle on the front of the shoe is iconic for so many reasons. If you’ve seen Sex and the City you’ll be thinking about the moment Mr. Big reveals Carrie’s new walk-in wardrobe with a pair of Manolo’s sitting inside waiting for her #dreams
Fit for a Princess
My next choice is more modern in design and actually takes Royal inspiration.
Designer Charlotte Mills has created a Meghan Markle inspired bridal shoe which is all yours for £250.
Synonymous with Meghan Markle’s style this shoe is a sleek and stylish point toe d’orsay court shoe in pearl ivory leather and matching glitter. The block heel helps with comfort and is right on-trend. The delicate ankle strap creates a heart design on the back of the shoe adding a little bit of cute-meets-chic.
If you’re looking for wedding shoes that are a little more chunky and contemporary in their style, we have a serious contender!
This style is also available as part of the Charlotte Mills vegan made-to-order service so you’re buying with a conscious too.
I hope my Sunday shoe selection has been helpful, even if it’s just to swoon!
It’s now time to go out and find your perfect wedding shoes. Whatever shape, size, or style, find the shoes that you never want to take off. Credit cards at the ready.
