I’m looking out of the window to a grey, damp day in the UK so what better subject than travel to bring a little bit of inspiration whilst the world is on hold?
Whether you’re a beach babe, adrenaline junkie, mountain explorer or island hopper, they say travel is good for the soul – and they wouldn’t be wrong.
As I’m sat here dreaming about the next destination on my wish-list, my attention turns to Brides planning their Hen parties and Honeymoons and where is safe to travel to at the moment. The good news is Dubai has been added to the UK travel corridor meaning it’s time to start planning your next trip!
With this in mind I caught up with luxury travel consultant, Sarah White, who’s been booking my holidays for as long as I can remember. Including my out-of-this-world Honeymoon to Abu Dhabi and the Maldives. Can I go back now please!
Sarah is extremely clued-up when it comes to travelling the world. Her nine year career in the travel industry means she’s fast become my go-to girl for inspiration.
What I love about booking with Sarah is her passion for the industry and her impressive knowledge. She’s a little black book and her experience is invaluable, especially when booking something as important as your Honeymoon.
As Dubai has recently been added to the travel corridor, I asked Sarah to share her top three hotels in Dubai with the Front Row Bride readers, as well as give us the inside scoop into this colourful and cosmopolitan country.
Meet Luxury Travel Consultant Sarah White
Dubai has long been a favourite holiday destination of mine… both before and after having children!
It’s a perfect place for couples, families, short breaks and extended trips.
Full of luxurious hotels in the city and on the beaches, each one with its own unique features. There’s fine dining including a huge array of Michelin starred restaurants, water parks, aquariums, enjoy sand buggies with nights under the stars in the desert, skiing, great shopping in the souks and the malls…. the list is endless!
If you’re incorporating Dubai as a stopover en-route to the Maldives, Thailand or any other beach destination then I would recommend staying in the centre so you can really make the most of your time in this cosmopolitan city.
Top tip – if you’re in Dubai on a Friday, head to one of the delectable and extremely social Friday brunches. Check the inclusions before you book, but many include unlimited drinks also… cheers 🥂
Here’s a round up of three of my favourite hotels in Dubai…..
Part of the Jumeirah chain, the beautiful Madinat Jumeirah is made up of 4 hotels – Mina a Salam, Al Qasr, Dar al Masyaf and Al Naseem.
Take a traditional Abra (boat) through the serene 5.4km of waterways that link the resorts. Enjoy views of the famous Burj al Arab from the 2km stretch of private beach.
If you opt for the Flavours of Dubai half board package, then you can dine in a choice of over 50 restaurants in the Jumeirah chain. Guests also benefit from unlimited access to Wild Wadi Waterpark, and complimentary shuttles between the hotels, waterpark and mall.
The highlight of the Madinat Jumeirah though is the Souk Madinat, an Arabian Bazaar where you’ll find spices, traditional robes, silks and much more. Spend an hour or a day getting lost in this traditional Middle Eastern marketplace.
Stay for 3 nights in March 2021 at Madinat Al Qasr in an Arabian deluxe room on a half board basis with private transfers from £1,193 per person
Five Palm Jumeirah
Dubbed the hottest hotel on Palm Jumeriah, the 5* Five Palm Jumeirah – a firm celeb fave sitting on its own stretch of private beach at the base of the Palm.
A popular choice for couples or groups of friends, this resort is definitely more adult focussed.
It’s got a great party vibe and is based around the five elements – earth, fire, air, water and consciousness. You’ll notice attention to detail throughout at this hotel, and there’s an incredible spa with an extensive treatment menu.
Laze around the insta worthy pool, and enjoy sundowners on the ultra chic terrace before partying the night away at the on-site nightclub.
If you’re looking for a trendy hotel with great facilities then this is the hotel for you!
Stay for 3 nights in March 2021 at Five Palm Jumeirah in a lux sea view room on a bed & breakfast basis with return private transfers from £895 per person
The Palace Downtown Dubai
A luxurious hotel in downtown Dubai, next to the Dubai Mall, the Burj Khalifa and the Burj Fountains.
The opulent rooms have a traditional Arabian feel with views of Burj Lake, or for a small supplement opt for the fountain view.
Within the hotel you’ll find six restaurants and bars, including the Argentinean steakhouse Asado, which is a huge attraction for foodies and a shisha bar – a great place to relax with friends.
If you’re travelling with children, the hotel has a dedicated children’s pool and a babysitting service.
The highlight of the hotel is their incredible spa, with views of Burj Lake where you can unwind with indulgent treatments.
Stay for 3 nights in March 2021 at the Palace Downtown in a deluxe lake view room on a bed & breakfast basis with return private transfers from £899 per person
